+ ANNOUNCEMENTS +Sunday 5 September 2010RALLY DAY SUNDAY NEXT SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 12TH ! We celebrate the American tradition of “Rally
Day” today as we renew our commitment to continue growing as learners in
Christ. In answering God’s call to “rally ‘round the
cross”. Not only do we resume our fall schedule with Worship at 10:00
AM, but we also will celebrate the beginning of the Sunday School season, with something for learners of all ages, 9:00
AM. ADULT FORUM begins on Rally
Day September 12th as well. Come and join us for a new year of
spiritual growth. SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR YOUTH AND CHILDREN begins
September 12th on Rally Day. The “Sparks” curriculum for ages 2
through Jr. High will be used again this year. The High School group will
continue using “Here We Stand” both excellent resources from Augsburg
Fortress. Join us after Church for an Ice Cream Social and to see
the new dividers in the green room if you haven’t already. RLC INTERIM MINISTRY Currently the
Call Committee is interviewing candidates. We are a strong, faithful
congregation who “rejoices in our future” we look forward to the great
opportunities for ministry God holds in store for us. Please keep
Council, Call Committee, Pastor Hallstrom and all the people of Resurrection in
your prayers during these exciting days! CHOIR BEGINS NEXT MONDAY SEPTEMBER 13 AT 6:30
PM. Adult and High School students are welcome to
join in. Male voices are always needed
so come and join the fun. 60+ GROUP STARTS REGULAR MEETINGS beginning this
month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 10:00 AM. Bring your funny bone and a dish to share! WE CARE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY! Please use the sign up sheet on the Narthex table to write down your
prayer requests. The Prayer and Care committee carefully pray over each
request. Bert is the leader of the prayer and care committee which meets
each Wednesday morning for prayer at 9:00 AM. He can be reached at
522-6767 or at bert.kirkpatrick@cox.net. LOOKING FOR A SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDY
OPPORTUNITY? The Lectionary Bible study group
meets each Tuesday at 7 P.M. at the church. Paul's letters to the ancient
churches are relevant today and Luke, the great storyteller, brings
to us events from the life of Jesus. Come share time with us as we
study these writings together. COFFEE AND TEA ONSALE NOW! In the
fellowship hall the “Free Trade” coffee, tea and
cocoa are all $1.00 off. Stock up and be ready for the cooler fall weather…Aaaahhhhhh…. A NEW PICTORIAL DIRECTORY IN OUR FUTURE There are
still some families and individuals that have not had their pictures taken for
the new directory. Imaging Committee will be tracking down those that
have not had their photo taken yet. Remember to bring your smiles. SPECIAL MUSIC? Do you play an
instrument? Would you like to sing a song during a service? Do you
have a special gift that could enhance the worship experience? Sign up on
the narthex table and you will be contacted for scheduling. THE LITTLE RED WAGON–HAYSVILLE COMMUNITY OUTREACH will be collecting
the usual pantry items for the months leading up to the holidays. Meals
in a box, canned fruits and veggies are staples of meals for families. When the wagon comes around just place your items inside.
Thank you for your generosity to this ministry. THE 2011 BUDGET IS BEING PLANNED by the Finance
Committee. If your group, committee or ministry would like to be
considered for funding for the next year’s budget, please submit a written
proposal to the office that outlines what you want. Since we use a zero
based approach to planning our annual budget, it is important that groups plan
ahead and not assume the budget is the same from year to
year. Deadline for submissions is September 30. UPCOMING CONCERTS Peter Eide will be here again (and this time with a full band!) on Sept 30
