We are… Growing in Faith by Learning

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday 9:00 AM (6 classes for age 2 – Grade 12)
A Bible-based program with exciting activities to spark the kids’ creativity and imagination. Our curriculum is lectionary-based, thereby increasing our youth’s understanding of the reading during the worship service.

ADULT FORUM

Sunday at 9:00 AM
This adult group meets for study and discussion related to the Bible, theological doctrine, and chosen topics.

LECTIONARY BIBLE STUDY

Tuesday at 7:00 PM
This group meets at the church to study and discuss the lectionary lessons for the coming Sunday. These are the lessons read during worship service.

WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDIES

Second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM
Women of the ELCA (WELCA) meet at church for Bible study, a light meal and fellowship.

SATURDAY WOMEN’S GROUP

Second Saturday of each month at 10:00 AM
All women and friends of Resurrection are invited to meet at the church for Bible study and fellowship.

FAITH 5

This home-based devotional program involves the whole family in nightly prayer and faith activities designed to strengthen faith in families.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Pre-school – Grade 6
A themed curriculum is chosen each summer for this inter-generational Bible-based program.

SUNDAY MORNING COFFEE HOUR

Members & Guests meet in our spacious Fellowship Hall for coffee, a snack, and great conversation after worship service.

WELCA - Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

Second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM
Ladies gather for Bible Study, fellowship, and lunch. The group sponsors a Fall Bazaar, a Spring Book and Bake Sale, and the Ash Wednesday Soup Supper to support ministries in the congregation and community. WELCA offers scholarships for youth attending Camp Tomah Shinga during the summer.

ADULT CHOIR

Monday evening practice at 7:30 PM
Yes, we sing praises to the Lord, but ask any choir member and they will tell you it is really about the fellowship!

ACT NIGHT - All Committee and Team Night

First Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM
We enjoy fellowship over a potluck supper and a devotion before ministry teams and committees meet to plan future activities. The evening also includes time for high school youth activities, youth choir rehearsals, and playtime in the nursery for young ones.

60+ GROUP

Second & Fourth Wednesday each month at 9:30 AM
Persons from the congregation and the community gather at the church for games and a potluck lunch.

YMT – Youth Ministry Teams

The YMT organize youth ministries under one team in order to meet the needs of various age groups and their specific needs. The includes the Jr/Sr High youth groups, home-based family devotional programs as well as “FAITH NIGHT” confirmation programs.

FAITH NIGHT

Third Wednesday of each month at 5:45 PM
If you are looking for the confirmation program here it is a cleverly disguised as fun! The program is intended to draw youth into involvement in the life of the church.

AMPED – A Ministry Preparing Extreme Disciples

This is the Jr/Sr High Youth Group (Grades 7-12)

CTPTB – Church The Place To Be

This is the group for Grades 3-6

WORSHIP

Acolytes and Crucifers - Trained Youth who assist at worship services.
Assisting and Eucharistic Ministers – Lay persons who assist as worship leaders for services and who participate in the ministry to hospitalized and homebound, visiting and bringing the sacrament.
Lectors – Persons who read lessons and assist in the distribution of communion at worship services

HOSPITALITY

Ushers and Greeters – Members who greet and assist worshipers before, during, and after service.
Welcome Ministers – Members who focus on greeting visitors before and after services and who carry out follow-up activities.
Coffee Fellowship Hosts – Members who provide snacks for the coffee fellowship following worship services.
House and Grounds – Volunteers who undertake maintenance tasks around the grounds and buildings.
Office Volunteers – Persons who fold and prepare the bulletins and newsletters.

PRAYER AND CARE

Wednesday at 9:00 AM
Each week a group of dedicated individuals meets at the church for intercessory prayer. Prayer requests from within and outside the congregation are collected and offered up in prayer.

WORLD HUNGER APPEAL

November of each year is dedicated to raising funds for this ELCA ministry.

We are… Living the Faith through Local Outreach

HAYSVILLE COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Non-perishable goods are collected during each Sunday worship service for the Haysville Community Outreach “Pantry.” Monetary gifts and offerings are also given to the HCO and to the Haysville Senior Center. Each year members help supply and wrap gifts for the HCO “Angel Tree” for needy children.

HAYSVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Resurrection Lutheran is an active member of the Haysville Chamber of Commerce. Each month congregational members serve the Chamber luncheon in the Fellowship Hall. Each Christmas, RLC choir members sing carols at the lighting of the community Christmas tree.

THRIVENT BUILDS / HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Members provide hospitality, meals, financial support and construction help to build affordable quality homes for those in need.

NURSING HOME WORSHIP SERVICES

The second Sunday afternoon of the month, a lay minister of RLC conducts a worship service at the local nursing home.

PARADES

For years, RLC has had entries in the local 4th of July and Fall Festival parades and won awards at many of them.

COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE

RLC has hosted and participated in the community Thanksgiving service.
